My Easter table

Just a quickie photo of my Easter table. I realize it's a bit busy looking. The base of the Easter Tree is very beaded and the flash wiped out the detail. On the bottom right is the little brown bunny I made today with a Styrofoam egg and some foam. I'll have to change the table cloth as I see it really clashes with all the pinks and lavenders!

Banners and Balls

I finished the bead and sequin banner for my brother today. On the weekend I had knitted a ball for my mom; she said she wanted one. I also decided to crochet one; I didn't use a pattern, just the force, Luke. I crocheted and added or deleted just by feel. Both are kinda lumpy so I guess you have to stuff the dickens out of them. I learned a lesson the other day and that is to stuff and stuff and stuff until you can't fit anymore! I am an understuffer.

So I'll get these items off in the mail and start another project. Hmm, what could it be.

Oh, today I also made a little bunny out of a Styrofoam egg and some felt. I used felt pen for eyes, it needs beaded pins instead. Once the glue dries better, I'll be able to fix it up.

Rollin', rolllin', rollin'

I finished my sushi roll/toilet roll cover today. I made it extra big because we use double rolls!
And for the fillings, the instructions were a little sketchy, so I just went to my felt scraps and added these random pieces.

It was a fun project, I crocheted the top and knit the bottom using DPNs, I basically followed the pattern, but basically did my own thing.

It's still rainy out here, but my little greenhouse is pretty warm and the soil for the seeds feels warm too, so things are looking good. Soon I'll fill it up more and more and more!

Now I gotta figure out what my next project is. I think I'll concentrate on finishing the beaded Easter banner for my brother, I don't like deadlines looming over me!

Well I figured out the crocheted heart from Crochet Me. Yeah. I did mine in white. I think it turned out pretty good for a first time crochet event! (I should have stuffed it more though) Well I did crochet when I was a kid, but all was lost.
Friday, I rode in with my man and enjoyed the wonderful sun in the city - it was raining where we live so the break was nice - crazy coastal weather. Did a little shopping.

I didn't get to work on my projects too much. Took my dawgs for a couple of walks and put up my portable greenhouse. This time I did it at the side of the house on concrete. It won't get as much sun here, but I'm hoping the concrete will help warm it up and being next to the house will also help it out. Plus, I can sneak out there any time and don't have to worry about getting my shoes dirty....

So at least I did put in an hour or so on the beaded/sequined Easter banner for my brother. And I did put together a little Easter centre piece for the kitchen table.

I'm itching to start another crochet project, even thought I need to finish the banner and a counted cross stich, but I find knitting and crochet is so much more mobile so it's easier to do.

I'm getting excited about the garden too. Boy, it's great to have so much to do!

Cupcakes and Hearts

Well, I got a video out from the library on crochet and watched it carefully. Next, I was able to make a crocheted pillow and it was so easy. Before I just couldn't get it and wondered how I could ever figure it out. Now, I just followed the pattern! And now I wondered how I couldn't understand. I haven't gone back for the cupcakes.

I've been working on these holiday banners for him. Now I'm working on the Easter one. A little less motivated because we had some snow and it was so cold in the house. But never fear, I'll get it done.

My motivation to finish projects is that I can start a new one. I like starting new projects!

Happy Friday!
