Time for Dream Interpretation
If you feel like reading a story and you feel like analyzing, then read about my dream from last night and tell me what you think:
I was working in a cubicle with a guy and there was a live event that we were preparing for – with lots of pressure to get it right as the eyes of the world would be watching. He seemed to know very well what we were to do, and I felt rather helpless and wondered why I was even there.
I went to the bathroom – but there was problem with the door and privacy. (This is a recurring theme in my dreams-and I also actually had to go to the bathroom)
Next I took a lunch break – I started walking down the city streets with a long winter coat and some plastic lunch containers. I came to an area where there was to be some sort of religious gathering/rally and thought I’d better get out of the area in case I was held up and couldn’t be late getting back to work. I took side streets as I worked my way back to the office. I was under pressure to return to work on time and knew I couldn’t be late and leave my partner to handle this afternoon’s task alone. Every time I tried to speed things up and get there faster, it always turned out take longer or put me even farther away from the office. Several times I’d put down my things and readjust all that I was carrying. Next I was on a beautiful pedestrian bridge but realized it was taking me in the wrong direction again. I crossed the street and headed back. I had to go through some doors where I took saw an elevator, it had a name on the button (not a floor) and I pushed the location thinking it would be a short cut – when the doors opened one floor up there was a cab waiting with a door open so I hopped in. There were several people already and they were all having a conversation. The fare was around $55 when I got in. I just wanted to go a few blocks and so I pulled out a $5 bill. A young woman asked for the fair box and asked the cab driver to make it for 2 hours. She had been telling a wonderful life lesson type of story. Shortly afterward the cab stopped and everyone got out. I handed the young woman my $5 and instantly regretted it feeling it wasn’t enough, she took it without any reaction. Everyone was leaving the cab as if they had learned a great new way to look at their lives. The young woman told then us we should read the book “The Head Coach” and everyone nodded there heads as if they were promising to read the book immediately. As I gathered all my lunch containers and a stack of books and left the cab, the cab driver turned to me (and now it was Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the book: Eat, Pray, Love) and she said “and that’s why after my parents divorced I always made sure I said ‘I love you’ to my family”
When I woke up, I realized that as I walked, my load grew – first I was trying to hold more and more lunch containers and by the end I was also carrying my coat and a stack of books. Do you think this dream is a prophetic one, or jump a jumble of random thoughts that roll around in my sleepy brain?

What's in a name?
From the "What were they thinking?" department ....
There is a reason there are experts becauses they are, well, just that- experts. Some people should not choose their own company name or make their own signs. I found this one while walking the dog - Reckless Roofing:

Nothing says "reliable, quality work" like the word "reckless".
And hmmm, how many roofers have burned down houses or buildings? Let me think..... oh yes, LOTS! So maybe flames on a roof top aren't a good graphic idea either!!!!!

In remembrance of today, this is a commercial Budweiser did for 9/11. They only aired it once so as not to benefit financially from it. They just wanted to acknowledge that horrible day and pay tribute to America and it's heroes.
Where's your Spark?
I was searching for an upcoming birthday present and decided I wanted to buy a piece of jewellry. I really try to support independant artists or companies so I tried looking on Etsy, however many of the pieces I found were too young for the person I was buying for. I tried searching by higher dollars - but there are pieces with price tags of $50,000. I have no idea why they're on Etsy for that price unless the seller just plugs in a price for one-of-a-kind items and has no intention on selling them. Anyone know the answer? Commissioned items maybe?
I decided to go to Spark which is in Vancouver and I sort-of "know" the designer, Megan, who told me she could customize a piece for me. So that's what I did. I must say, she was very speedy with her communications and creating the piece and shipping it. I am very happy with the whole experience and wanted to share with you. I'm sure the birthday girl will like it too.

And since the Halloween "season" is fast approaching, this may be a great time to pick up some of her skully items, such as these Baroque Skull bobby pins or even this Burning Heart cameo. And when you do - don't forget to tell us about it.

FOs - it's been a long time coming
It has been a long time since I've finished some projects - namely due to my cute little friend who is now 6.25 months old:

.....who still likes to sleep on her back (and usually snores)

Here is a finished scarf - I was in the yarn store in July and saw a sample and just had to make it. The pattern came with the yarn.

Also finished is this matinee jacket that was supposed to have 3/4 length sleeves but I after running out of yarn twice I altered the pattern to make it short sleeve. I started it this past February before Jazz got sick and now I just wanted it done - too bad I didn't finish it when we had the hotter weather. Oh well, there's always next year, right?

And that's all I gots for now - happy Labour Day! Two more UFOs to go!

Layin' low
We're laying low on this long weekend as we're going away later this month and with the weather turning wet and cool, I don't feel like I'm missing out on any great big long weekend events.
The kid and I took Eco swimming on Friday afternoon - I figured the place would be packed since it was sunny and warm but it was the opposite. Eco had a blast in the water, especially since the kid went swimming with her. I can't believe she's 6 months already and I can't believe he starts school on Tuesday! Where does the time go?!
Saturday I cleaned the entire bathroom, including the washing the ceiling and the walls! Phew, what a job - but I'm so glad it's done. Today, I'm doing some reading and some crochet. Nice and mellow.
With school starting, I'm feeling like I should sign up for a course or two and I'm going to spend some time looking into that. We'll be doing another session of puppy training as Eco needs more exposure with people and other dogs. I'm so glad that almost all her baby teeth are gone - unfortunately one baby canine (fang) is still there - right next to the adult one which is growing in. Ouch, her gums must be sore from the pressure, but there's not much I can do. I'm pretty sure a vet would leave it until something happens - like an abscess. In the mean time, we still need to watch out for that sharp little tooth, it made an inch long slice in my finger the other day. Not cool, Eco. Not cool
