Also, yesterday afternoon I found a crinoline for my wedding dress. I did not find the hair piece I wanted at the bridal shop - I'm just not the sort to wear a tiara! So I went to Michael's craft store and found a bridal comb for my hair. But then when I talked to my mum later on, she had a comb from the 50's that would be better, so I'll return the one I bought. While I Michael's I bough the stuff for the earrings. My new rule is to only by craft stuff for a project - no more buying 'stock'. So I bought the beads and then made them last night!

Hi Jo - no I bought the dress but it needed a crinoline. I will also be wearing a pair of shoes that I already own - is that bad?
It's all good. You get to call the shots on this one. Besides, having comfy feet is very important, especially on such a special day. I made my wedding dress. I'd always had a picture in my mind of what I wanted, so bought patterns that had different elements I liked and conglomerated them together and made my own design (sleeves from one, waistline from another, neck from another, etc). And I have since seen some crocheted parts in an old magazine that I would have loved to add...if only I'd seen them earlier. I guess what I'm saying is....make it special....make it YOU.
Thank you Jo. I am trying, but it's the hardest thing I've ever done, and can't help but think I won't be happy with the day and wish I prepared better, but before the even I don't know what all to do! I'm very confused.
Your dress sounds wonderful. Have you ever posted a picture of it?
