It never gets old

Recently we stopped into the only Krispy Kreme Doughnut shop in the Vancouver area, and Jp bought me this cute little cup:

what makes it even cuter as after you drink your coffee, you find a little joke - a donut in the bottom!

Ah ha ha - it never get's old ...

My Desk

I don't usually like to post pictures of my desk because it's rather messy and cluttered but I thought I'd share two things with you.

1) This is what sometimes happens under my desk:

Eco hinting that she wants to play with me, by making her presence known. (What a strange way to sit, it looks completely awkward)

2) Jp brings me some "Fat Girl Tea" and a snack plate, all wrapped up in cello like they do at the hotels.

What goes on at your desk?

75 Puppies

Every time I go to buy Eco some treats, I get discouraged/disgusted/disappointed by all the crap in them, so I decided it was time to make some for her again - they really are quite easy and fast.

Here are 75 puppies:

Edit: sadly, it looks like shipping to Canada will require some phone calls as the site seems to have a 'glitch"

Dollar Store Goodies (I'm not ashamed)

I stopped in at my local dollar store yesterday and found some neat goodies.

I bought this placemat because I think it
will make a great knitting needle roll ($2)
Then I found these acrylic flower napkin rings, they are so
pretty aren't they? ($1 each)
I just love these napkins. They don't really go with anything, but I really liked them.
I only bought two of them. Maybe I'll use them for a purse or purse liner ? ($1 each)

And then these dishcloths. I liked the green and the stitching on them.
Maybe they won't make their way to the sink ($2)

And finally, my favourite piece - I just love this acordian file, complete with gros-grain ribbon. It was only $4. Four dollars, I said! I've seen similar pieces at Russell+Hazel for $60+. I know it's not the same quality, but I'm okay with that at the moment. (BTW, if you like the stuff at Russell+Hazel and you are Canadian, watch out. By the time you pay the exchange and the shipping, and then get a COD on your package for GST and Duty, it's really not worth it for us!)

(Total = $14.00) Coolio.

Do you ever...

have one of those days where everything seems to be a struggle?

Like when it feels that people at work are going out of their way to make your job difficult? Or every call you get is someone complaining about something?
Or, when every step of the way seems to have a snag?
Or when bad news is added on top of bad news?

Oh yes, I know, my problems are insignificant. They're just little things - like the clothes dryer that just doesn't want to dry? or things that fall? or being in your overdraft and you still have another week until payday? Small problems compared to those who've have loved ones killed, or lost their jobs/cars/homes/children etc. I am certainly grateful to have clean water and a dry, warm house, and clothes on my body, and a spouse who loves me, and two loving doggies and a strong, able body... but when so many small problems come together at onces, it's hard to stay motivated as they accumulate and make you feel like you should just crawl into bed and stare at horrible daytime TV.

And then, like a ray of sunshine, something good happens just in time. I just received these in the mail from BigGirl Feet - read all about them here:

Aren't they gorgeous? Everyone buy them... they are wonderful.

Wild Cherry!

Look what JP brought home for me yesterday.. I musta been a real good girl:

It's a steering wheel cover, with dimensional cherries! Now I think I'll crochet some cherries for my rearview mirror, or something. Any suggestions?

Treats!

Yay! I got treats!

JP had a business meeting in Washington this morning and brought home some US goodies - Squeeze Cheese! (4 bottles), and SNICKERDOODLES! (which I love, but homemade is still the best way to go) and a Hot Chocolate notebook and a striped file sorter (I've already installed the alphabet tabs and filed knitting/crochet patterns)

Wasn't that sweet of him! Yay! It's nice to get treats. And for that I'll make him a lovely port tenderloin with potatoes and corn. Yum. He'll love it.
