This morning, I let the dogs out at 5:45am, and then they started to bark like crazy, I put on my rubber boots and grabbed a shovel to see what was under my daylilies. First I saw a big of fur - hmm, strange looking rat, not cat fur.... what could it be? Then, THE TEETH! It was an opossum! Poor little thing, it was probably scared after two 50 pound dogs were barking at it! I've never seen one in our neighbourhood especially since there are more natural areas not too far from here that they could happily live in without disturbance. I left it alone, but told the neighbours. Especially the neighbour who lives closest to the siting who has two little chihuahuas!
Maybe I need to tone down my garden just a bit. It seems to be getting overgrown. It's hard pulling up and pruning some plants but it's probably better for all of us. And may reduce the frequency of wild visitors.
JP comes home today and I was going to make him a special meal, but then he tells me he wants his favourite - Chinese food! Well that will be easy tonight. Do you think that means I'm not a good cook?

An oppossum! Wow! That's pretty cool. I take it as a compliment when wild things want to hang out at my place. But maybe it's a little dangerous for them where there's traffic and kids.
That yarn is neat. How it do that?
I'm sure you're not a bad cook at all. I can relate to JP. One of the things we miss most about the Lower Mainland is the diversity of food....made properly (if you ever come to Fraser Lake DO NOT eat the Chinese food!!!). We have to make trips down to Vancouver every now and then just for a "fix".
Jo-you have a good point about wild thing... as long as they don't interfer with my dogs and vice versa then we're okay.
Thank you for the heads up - I will never eat Chinese Food in Fraser Lake!!!
So glad you are home and safe!
