I had one skein of Cascade 220 wool which I wanted to try felting a purse, so I search around for a pattern but just couldn't find one that worked for the materials I had, so I invented one. I crocheted the bag and knitted the handles and then felted it. And I knew it would shrink at least 50% but wow - I think it went to about 70%!

Here it is, its still drying and waiting to be embellished - 6" across the bottom, 9 1/2" across the top and 6 1/2" deep. But it's nice and spring-y isn't it?

Today we had snow overnight again, but since this morning it's been raining heavily. I'm really getting tired of all the snow, and the rain and the cold. And we still have about 2 more months of this. I'll have to make more mittens and fingerless gloves and sweaters and socks I guess. Does the weather bother you at all?

Hey! That bag turned out great. Love the colour. I'd also like a break from the rain. The snow is still a novelty for me, but the rain...ugh.

The bag's adorable. VERY spring-y.
As for the weather....I LOVE it. I miss the torrential downpours of the Lower Mainland (I know, I know), but am also enjoying the snow here. I think I must have been an Eskimo in a previous life because I love the north and the cold. I even love to watch shows on TV about places like Ellesmere Island and would love to visit there sometime. (I'm saying love a lot, aren't I?)
Currently (early Sat morn) we are having a blizzard. As long as I don't have to drive anywhere, I'm loving it. And we have 3 more months of it. I might be ready for green grass by then.

Thanks for the great comments on the bag - yes it is very springy. I'm going to knit a flower or other adornment on it as soon as I find the right yarn.
JoAnn I'm glad that you like the weather you live in, and you certainly do have a lovely view. I don't think I'd mind the snow if it brought sunny days.
Thanks too Carol - yes, a blue sky would be nice to see and I think we'll be getting some next week -yessssssssssssss! That'll give us a bit of a lift!
