Just completed another Hallowig. This one in a pale grey acrylic/wool. I wound in a silver thread hoping for a medieval chain maille look, but instead I got 70's disco. It's fairly thick and should be warm being that there's some wool in it.
I'll be sending off to my brother and sister-in-law. Any guess who will wear it?
I've already decided on my next project - some wrist warmers out of a fuzzy burgundy acrylic (using up inherited yarns) from One Skein Wonders. I'll start them after work although I'd like to start them sooner. I'll show you once I get started.

The more I think of it the more I like the Hallowig. It might actually be very practical when it gets really cold out, protecting the neck and all. I wonder if Art would wear one....
Well if you attach a button to the bottom of it, then it will stay close to the head and be very warm indeed. I liked that because it's all ribbed, there is extra yarn and it can expand quite well, so I didn't need to size up when I made this for my brother. It's already snowed in his town in Alberta so I am sure he'll make good use of it.
It only took me about 2 days to knit, so you can make it up quickly if you like
