I have started on the front but still have about 60 rows left to go in stockinette before I start the pattern, so nothing much to show you yet.
Other things seem to be going on right now, so I don't think I'm progressing as quickly as I should. I get maybe an hour or so done each night - not as much as I'd like to do. However, this time of year is also present making time so I have been working on some other things as well, many still in progress.
Monday's episode of She's Crafty was okay. The headboard was a good idea, but the golf-shirt computer cover was horrid. She redeemed herself in the end by showing the felted purse though, and so I didn't feel so bad for wasting the 10 minutes in the middle of the show. I think it would do a whole lot better with a different host - surely Vancouver has a large enough talent pool that we can find someone with more charisma. Even my husband doesn't like her and he's only seen the show once or twice when he's walked into the room.
Yesterday it was nice enough for me to take the dogs for a walk. I should've had mitts on, but I didn't think to bring them. I like to be warm. While out, I saw a guy walking in shorts and a short sleeved shirt - either he is is one of those people who's never cold, or he thought because the sun was out that it would be warm, or he left the house in a hurry and didn't plan to be outside. All I know is that I had a hat and a polar fleece on, and should've had on my mitts. I think I have a low cold threshold - hence the reason I love summer!

I'll have to watch that show one day. And I know Art would LOVE to get the DIY channel.
Your sweater progress is looking great.
Ha-ha-ha. Funny story about the guy in shorts. He sounds like me! check out this post on my blog from March 2006... http://joblom.blogspot.com/2006/03/waddya-mean-its-cold-out.html
She's Crafty is on HGTV and I too, would love to get the DIY Channel - can you get it via satellite? Maybe it's not a good idea, because then I'd be watching to much TV!
and in regards to your shorts - I see I commented on your short's wearing in the snow then...and I'll say it again "You're nuts!" ha ha, well good for you for having a great furnace in your body! I am envious!
That was you that commented? I just assumed it was my sister (who is also named Denise).
Nope, can't get the DIY channel on satellite...at least not Starchoice.
I am searching the WWW for help with cutting an already crocheted garment to insert a section to make it bigger (if you have any tips or know of any site that might be able to help, please let me know). In my travels I found this blog which made me think of you because of her references to the Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy. So, I kept reading her stuff and she is hilarious.... http://www.cyn.ca/knit/2007/06/
I found an answer. I spent most of the day searching the net, finally posted a question on Ravelry, then went to Crochetville and found someone who had done it successfully. It's called "steeking". I think I'll make a test swatch and try it first before I ruin all my hard work.
Hi Joanne - oops (my face is red) you're right, how arrogant of me -
it wasn't me who said that - because I'm never under my own name! So I'll amend my answer to agree with your sister! Ha ha ha - sorry about that!
I was going to suggest something like steeking but thought it was only with knitting, good to know that you can do it with crochet. But don't you have to be working in wool as well?
Thanks for the blog link - she's funny and I have added her to my blog roll on the side!
