Time is Not on My Side

I think I'm going to have a little chat with myself over the holidays. For some reason I am not having a very good relationship with time. It doesn't seem to like me very much and seems to be speeding up just for the fun of it.

I feel like I didn't get much done at all in 2009. Just recalling the last 20 days, I really can't tell you what I accomplished. Like for example this past weekend - which was a 4 day weekend (using the last of my allowed vacation days for the year). What did I do? In four days, I got my hair cut, did laundry and went to a Christmas Tea (which was a great break Cynthia - thank you). I also got my daily stuff done like yoga, and walking Eco and cooking but they shouldn't count as I do them daily (well definitely the last two) I did look after my husband who was ordered off his feet after a foot surgery two weeks ago. But that still doesn't sound very productive for 96 hours off. It's not like I got to sleep in and watch TV all day. I was doing stuff. And I'm tired. But what was it? "Busy work" I guess.

How did you feel 2009 went for you? I think a couple other people are feeling the same way about this past year as well. I'd love to hear your comments and what you think you'll do to change it.

I feel like we let the year slide by ... we did stuff. We even took our first vacation in seven years, but ... something feels "undone".

Our goal for 2010 is to be better stewards of our resources and our time.

I spent far too much time in Starbuck's because I was bored and couldn't think of anything interesting to do --- THAT'S gotta stop. LOL

I felt like it was a swimming in mud type of year, always dragging and things taking way too long to get done and finished, some things are still to get done or finished. Always fighting against the current, chasing things down, reminding, following up, nothing going as smoothly as it should. And putting things out there to start just didn't feel as exciting this go around. I'm hoping 2010 is a better one and things become more clear and moving full speed ahead again to make up for lost time.

And thank you so much for coming and for the wonderful pressies! You are a true friend!
I hope Jamie's foot is healing and hope Santa brings you lots of goodies!! xo

Count me in as someone who felt like I was standing still this whole year. 2010 I'm going to do a bit more planning rather than just flying by the seat of my pants. It really didn't work for me this year at all. :-(

Onward and upward!
