The Prize was Won

So the radio sound contest was won at $17,000 - the correct guess was closing a folding chair. The next sound was won on the first try and the third sound took about 17 guesses. I just couldn't figure out the weird squeaky noise - turned out to be 'shucking an ear of corn'.  I think she won about $7,000

And so far I haven't got a clue on the latest sound.

It sure would be nice to win that cash wouldn't it? I have plans for about $100,000 worth of things! I need to win big to support all my dreams! LOL!

Weird Dreams

I've had some really strong, weird dreams the past couple of nights. On Sunday I dreamt about going on a trip, strapping in my seat which looked like a plane but turned into a bus. Suddenly the bus veered off the road and was driving down a grassy area, I was afraid we were  going too fast and we would drive over someone(we were in a park like setting) then the driver pointed the bus straight to the shore and we plunged into the water - turning into a boat and a away we went now propelling through the water.

Last night I dreamt that I was sick and was resting at an old bosses' house (believe me, I would never spend a second with that man in reality). I was having a nice chat and conversation with him as I waited for Jp to come pick me up. He arrived with a girl and he let me talk about all the things that were going on with me. The girl went off and reunited with her boyfriend who was at the same place I was. As Jp and I walked to the car, I noticed some tired in the back seat of the driver's side and I cracked some joke about it. But as I walked around the car to my side, the car was all smashed up and then I was completely baffled about what had happened and why he had acted like nothing had happened. The dream was so disturbing that I woke  up and couldn't sleep so I just got up.

These dreams are so mixed up and nonsensical I can't make any sense out of why they come into my head. I've looked at those online dream dictionaries but nothing seems to fit.

What do you do when you have really weird dreams?

One too many Bond Movies

After watching 4 James Bond movies this weekend, I suppose it's no surprise that I had the craziest action-packed Bond-esque dream last night

First was Moonraker which was done in 1979 with Roger Moore. This was rather flat and disappointing but I understand it was very popular at the time since it was out around the time of Star Wars and there was quite the space race movie craze.

Next was For Your Eyes Only and I thought it was pretty good - a couple of trademark goofy things in it. Then Octopussy which also lived up to the genre and finally Never Say Never Again with Sean Connery again.  I must say so far, I prefer Sean Connery to Roger Moore but I'm still curious to see Pierce Brosnan as Bond because I've always liked him and think he would make an excellent James Bond.

So now you can understand why my brain went all crazy on me last night. A few minutes at my work computer will kill all of that, then it'll be business as usual again. And I've turned on an internet radio station that's All Christmas (music) All Day - how long do you think I'll last?

A warm fuzzy dream...sigh

Last night I had a wonderful dream. I was visiting Leonie Dawson at her lovely house in Cairns, Australia. I made play-doh for her daughter, Ostara*, that I had tinted a beautiful turquoise colour and enjoyed the lushness of her lovely home and property. There were lots of people visiting too (maybe a retreat?) and everything was easy-going and joyful with lots of laughter, warmth and support. I felt so nourished and loved, like I just received the biggest and most satisfying hug I could ever imagine.

Now that's a nice way to wake up.

Maybe it was the incredible overnight crock-pot oatmeal that Jp makes - maybe the smell of cooking apples and cinnamon all night give me yummy warm dreams?

I feel too good to be at work today. (But alas, I must)

You know you watch too much TV when...

... Jack Donaghy (from 30 Rock, played by Alec Baldwin)  is throughout your dreams - last night he was in my house, going through all my stuff!

Do you ever do that?

Years ago when Sex and the City was on, I would dream about shopping with Carrie, Miranda or Charlotte; having lunch with them or cocktails. I stopped writing my dreams down when I realized that whatever I had watched that day worked it's way into my dreams. I no longer felt my dreams were telling me anything about myself or predicting the future -other than perhaps I watched too much TV.

Dreaming of the Dragon's Den

Lately, I must have been watching too much of the TV show, Dragon's Den because last night in my dreams I was in front of the Dragons pitching my idea. I don't recall what it was, but I believe it was something already invented (in reality). In my dream, my team won because the Dragons liked us, not because of the idea/product.

It would have been nice if I had actually invented something last night.

Once I woke up in the middle of the night because I had a brilliant idea, I blearily and quickly sketched it on some paper on my bedside table and then went to sleep feeling quite smug about my amazing idea. I woke up with excitement and looked at the paper to see what I had written. Big let down! You know what I drew? A stop sign. Bah! Even my brain plays jokes on me.

Have you ever had a great invention in your dreams, only to be let down upon awaking and realizing what it was?

New Years Eve/Blue Moon

First, to catch up a bit, our Christmas was good. Everyone received lots of presents and we were reminded of how much our friends and families love us. We did some visiting and had some time off of work. It was good.

I haven't been writing lately because I just felt so, what's a good word.. scattered? I felt pulled in multiple directions and didn't seem to get anything done despite all the balls in the air. Today, I'm going to tidy up my office/work room in hopes to have a fresher start for the new year. (I am a 'work from home' employee, so that'll help 2 main aspects in my life).

As you read in my last post, last year seemed odd, for lack of a better word (part of my scattered brain I'm still experiencing). It was my worst year at work in 8 years - they doubled my work load in February and so I felt I never got anything done and felt I was disappointing people left, right and centre. As well, during the first two months of the year I was dealing with Jazz's (my Australian Cattle Dog) cancer and then spent two months missing her. Not just because she was gone, but because I lost 2 dogs in one year - both had been with me for 13 years. I followed that period with adapting to life with a puppy which was wonderful and exhausting all at the same time. Dogs are very important for my mental well-being, they are a very big part of my personality and I had to adapt to all these changes - mainly going from knowing my dogs and my dogs knowing me (routine) to teaching a little ball of energy EVERYTHING! (no routine). Eco is now 10 1/2 months old has come along nicely and things are starting to settle down- no more in house accidents, no more puppy teeth injuries. In fact, earlier this week, Eco learned to retrieve the frisbee and even enjoyed jumping to catch a couple in the air. I know she enjoyed the jump and catch when she ran past me, completing a 'victory lap' before returning it to me for the next throw. What a good girl.

I have good feelings for 2010 and feel many things that hindered me this past year are now behind me. Do I always feel this way around New Year's? Maybe, but that doesn't matter. This year is going to be different. And even ol' Mother Earth is going to experience it differently because we're having a Blue Moon this New Year. I take that as a sign that change is in the air (no pun intended).

Happy New Year
May you all have a safe, healthy,
happy and prosperous year!

Time for Dream Interpretation

If you feel like reading a story and you feel like analyzing, then read about my dream from last night and tell me what you think:

I was working in a cubicle with a guy and there was a live event that we were preparing for – with lots of pressure to get it right as the eyes of the world would be watching. He seemed to know very well what we were to do, and I felt rather helpless and wondered why I was even there.

I went to the bathroom – but there was problem with the door and privacy. (This is a recurring theme in my dreams-and I also actually had to go to the bathroom)

Next I took a lunch break – I started walking down the city streets with a long winter coat and some plastic lunch containers. I came to an area where there was to be some sort of religious gathering/rally and thought I’d better get out of the area in case I was held up and couldn’t be late getting back to work. I took side streets as I worked my way back to the office. I was under pressure to return to work on time and knew I couldn’t be late and leave my partner to handle this afternoon’s task alone. Every time I tried to speed things up and get there faster, it always turned out take longer or put me even farther away from the office. Several times I’d put down my things and readjust all that I was carrying. Next I was on a beautiful pedestrian bridge but realized it was taking me in the wrong direction again. I crossed the street and headed back. I had to go through some doors where I took saw an elevator, it had a name on the button (not a floor) and I pushed the location thinking it would be a short cut – when the doors opened one floor up there was a cab waiting with a door open so I hopped in. There were several people already and they were all having a conversation. The fare was around $55 when I got in. I just wanted to go a few blocks and so I pulled out a $5 bill. A young woman asked for the fair box and asked the cab driver to make it for 2 hours. She had been telling a wonderful life lesson type of story. Shortly afterward the cab stopped and everyone got out. I handed the young woman my $5 and instantly regretted it feeling it wasn’t enough, she took it without any reaction. Everyone was leaving the cab as if they had learned a great new way to look at their lives. The young woman told then us we should read the book “The Head Coach” and everyone nodded there heads as if they were promising to read the book immediately. As I gathered all my lunch containers and a stack of books and left the cab, the cab driver turned to me (and now it was Elizabeth Gilbert, author of the book:
Eat, Pray, Love) and she said “and that’s why after my parents divorced I always made sure I said ‘I love you’ to my family”

When I woke up, I realized that as I walked, my load grew – first I was trying to hold more and more lunch containers and by the end I was also carrying my coat and a stack of books. Do you think this dream is a prophetic one, or jump a jumble of random thoughts that roll around in my sleepy brain?
