Here's wishing you the smiles o' life and not a single grumble.
Here's wishing you the best o' life and not a claw about it.
Here's wishing you the joy in life and not a day without it."
- Irish Blessing
And a happy St. Patrick's Day to you too!
I was watching the news on the weekend and they showed coverage of the Vancouver St. Patrick's Day parade and they also showed many other groups who weren't Irish but were participating; when asked why some of these groups mentioned multiculturalism. We don't all have to be Irish, to be happy today and wish our mates a good day, do we?
And this year, I didn't make or display any ornaments, perhaps because last year it was on the weekend. Did you put out any decorations, or drink green beer?

and the whole piece.

Yes, I know my work isn't centred, I am leaving room for the next two people still to come.

Just before Christmas my employer sent me a new computer as my old one is 6 years old and becoming a bit unreliable. At that time I plugged it in, made sure everything worked and then returned it to it's boxes. Now, I'm worrying too much about my old computer's abilities and so I have a technician coming by this afternoon to help me with some of the file transfers so I can start working on the new computer.I'm very nervous about this and it's been on my mind all weekend. I know my current computer is old, but I know it really well, and I am in the habit of frequent back ups. This new one feels like it's going to be a problem and I haven't even worked with it yet. I didn't pick the computer or it's components - first mistake I think. I know I will enjoy that it is smaller, and the flat screen monitor is certainly much smaller than my 80 pound (yes really! 80 pounds) 19 inch monitor, but I'm apprehensive.
I do like change, really I do, and perhaps in a few days when I realize how fast the new machine is, or how I enjoy all the space on my desk, and I will announce how much I love the machine, but right now, I'm still a bit worried.
So I'll let you know how things are going, and if I switched back to my big old friend..... would I do that?

Sometimes new shoes pinch, sometimes they don't. Your new computer might give you one little headache, but it might become the best you ever worked with. Good luck and don't worry
Glad to note "the kid" doesn't have a dumb mom who lets his prize be handed over.
It was a mistake but the kid learned that Life often is not fair.
The dumb mom involved in the story
