As I browse through my favourite blogs, it seems that I'm not the only one who has been blogging part-time for the summer. Especially once the weather turned nice, after being inside all day for work, I just want to get out there and enjoy it before the rains start again.
I have been working on some projects, like this bag I knit with Cascade 220 Heather and then felted. I made it larger that what the pattern called for - I had seen a sample in the LYS - and I am glad I did; it turned out better than I imagined. Now I just need to sew on the handles, the 'clasp' and a button, but for now, here's a quickie progress photo (it's all just pinned together for the photo). I also started some socks. I bought a plain colour as I wanted to make a pair with a pattern instead of striped stockinette. I started with a pattern from the 2008 Knitting Pattern-a-Day calendar but either there is something wrong with the pattern, or I misunderstood something as I cast on 64 stitches, after my first 6 rows of the pattern I had 70 stitches and after the next 6 stitches I had 80+ so those socks would have just been getting wider and wider. I decided to frog and go with the good old standby, the Monkey Socks from Knitty. I was sure I'd have success with them as I know so many people who've made them. Now I didn't get too far last night as I ran out of time, but what I've done so far, I like very much. So that's my current knitting project.
And now, for your entertainment.... I present "Simon's Cat"
your purse looks so great!!! and Monkey socks- they're fun to knit!! and Simon's cat- aka Bucky- LOL!! hope your work week is going great & goes quickly- it's supposed to be super sunny this afternoon... :)))
Hi! You have a nice blog! I found it through the blog school over at the feeling stitchy blog. Simon's cat is so fun! While I was watching it, gigggeling and laughing, my cat suddenly behaved just like the one in the cartoon. All of a sudden she had to sit on my lap, stepping on the keyboard, meowing - which only made me laugh even more :) Thanks for the laugh!
