The Perfect Cake

It was Jp's birthday and we didn't have any family events - just the three of us, so I decided a little cake was better than no cake and made this mini layer cake: 

Cute isn't it? I know it's hard to tell the scale, but think about how big a birthday candle is - and then the cake looks teeny doesn't it? It's about 3" across and about 4" high, two layers with strawberry flavoured icing. Forty-eight matching mini cupcakes were gone by the end of the weekend. Mini cupcakes are dangerous because you can so easily just pop them in your mouth. Gone!
